good morning, 6:00 a.m., friday, march 25 i'm tamala edwards along with erin o'hern. matt o'donnell is off we're working on several new and developing stories. someone sprayed a barrage of bullets overnight hitting an innocent 16-year-old girl. we're live with the details. in south jersey, a police officer is recovering from wounds he received in a dog attack that left another man fighting for his life. a rainy start to this good friday, the sun will peek on it later today, accuweather is tracking the latest. speaking of which, let's go over to david murphy he is outside checking temperature right now karen rogers is looking at traffic. ,. >> reporter: good morning, everybody it feels great with mild temperatures. drizzle on the terrace right now. storm tracker 6 live double scan shows you there are scattered showers and sprinkle around. where you see no green there could drizzle from the low-lying cloud cover. generally speaking just a few spotty showers here and there.

detective'ses where the shooting is under investigation. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, the police do not have a description of the shooter or shooters. they are hoping footage from nearby surveillance cameras they can get the description of the suspect or suspects in the case. meanwhile, the 16-year-old girl is in the hospital in stable condition. officers were called out to 7th and luzerne around 11:30 in hunting park after a report of gunfire. police say a 16-year-old girl was standing on the front steps of her home talking to her sister when several shots were fired nearby. she realized she was shot in the thigh height by a stray bullet. she ran into the house where the family members helped her until medics arrived. it appears the 16-year-old female is an innocent victim. it appears she was standing on the front steps of the property talking to her sister when she was struck in her thigh with a

stray bullet. >> reporter: at this point, police are investigating a motive and trying to figure out who was involved. if you have any tips, east detective'ses are -- east detectives are investigate this one. they would like to hear you. a gunman was on the run on south 16th street in point breeze. the victim jumped into a car and police picked him up, he is in stable condition. police gunned down a pitbull after it attack two people. it happened along the 1100 block of tuckahoe road in camden. investigators say the dog bit a man in the face and arm leaving him with severe wounds. the officer suffered wounds to the arm, as well. no word on what sparked the

attack. 6:05. u.s. secretary of state john kerry is in brussels this morning he would join with other world leaders and pay his respects in the tuesday bombing attacks. a large police operation rounded up 6 people in brussels possibly connected to the deadly bombing in the airport and the subway. authorities are searching for a the bomber who has gotten away. they are searching for him and the man seen at the airport with the light colored jacket and dark hat. they have identified that man who is on their most wanted list, they are not publicly naming him. it's frightsenning -- frightening because when a guy walks away from two suicide bombers he gets out and activates the next network. there's chilling new evidence that the brothers may have had nuclear ambitions,

passer by caught a dramatic arrest of a suspected drug dealer in maryland.u see the vir him nar rating. -- narrating it. this started with the suspect was being watched as part of a drug investigation. a passer by caught the dramatic pursuit with the cell phone camera. it has been shared $100,000. new video of a group of store employees trying to stop a robbery in houston. surveillance video shows the store employee getting flung off the back of a pick up truck as it's being stolen. the store owner left the keys inside the running car that's when the thief jumped in and took off. nobody was hurt, police are looking for that crafty crook. 6:17. flyers are making a serious

through. a lot of spots where you don't have rain, the surface is wet. up in berks county there's shower activity. there's additional rain down to the south of washington and the band coming in east of pittsburgh. during the morning and afternoon hours we'll be dealing with that. as you step outside, you open the door you can't believe how mild it is. i don't ever anything more than my suit coat on this morning. as we roll through the day, 68 degrees by noon. 3:00 p.m., 72. the april in and around philadelphia should be done fairly quickly in the afternoon hours. if you're closer to the coast it may take the afternoon to get the last of the spotty showers through. today is not a washout. the pollen count is lower because of the showers that are popping through. so lower pollen count today, but getting up there again over the easter holiday weekend. speaking of the weekend i'll have the saturday and sunday forecast coming up in just a couple of minutes. how about the roads. >> reporter: it's good friday a lot of people have off.

developing story, a philadelphia teenager was out enjoying a nice mild even on the front steps when a stray bullet came out of nowhere and hit her. katherine scott is outside east detective's with the latest on the story. >> reporter: the 16-year-old girl is in stable condition, police believe she was an innocent victim struck by a stray bullet outside her home. detectives at the east division continue to investigate. officers were called out after 11:30, the 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg. she had been standing on the front steps of her home talking to her sister when they heard several shots. she realized she was hit in the thigh. investigators were on the scene gathering evidence and trying to determine what exactly happened. at least four separate businesses in the immediate area do have exterior surveillance

cameras. so east detective's is on location processing the scene. and police are hoping there is surveillance footage because they don't have a description of the suspect or suspects at this point. of course, if you have any tips, east detective's want to hear from you. katherine scott channel 6 "action news." thank you. developing this morning, two bucks county teens were taken to the hospital after what police called an underage party. the action cam was on the scene of crest drive in east rock hill township. police were called to the home around 1:30 a.m. for a noise complaint. officers did take some of the tones teens home. they have not told us why the teens needed medical attention, but added it was just a precaution. a fight over a damaged car led to a stabbing in tacony section. during an argument someone threw a potting plant that shattered in the street. another person was stabbed in

the stomach. there's no word on his condition this morning. police have a person in custody. it is 6:35, u.s. secretary of state john kerry is in brussels this morning to pay his respects to the victims of the bombing attack. 6 people were detained in brussels related to the attacks on the airport and the subways there. a manhunt is underway for one of the airport attackers, that man right there who was recorded on surveillance video and additional attacker at the metro station they. "good morning america" is live in brussels their coverage. terror investigation continues at 7:00 a.m. after "action news." a temporary glitch left some drivers getting a ticket from the philadelphia parking authority. the wireless went down yesterday that meant no one could use

between now and 8:00 a.m., you might see a steadier shower briefly popping through at times. midday we're looking at thing breaking down into lighter, spotty showers. after 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., we think most of the rain will be over south jersey and pushing toward the coast. the closer you are to the coast the more in the afternoon you'll be on the look out for this. it's going to be mild. 62 degrees by 8:00 a.m. 64 by 10:00. 68 by noon. most of the rain wrapping up afternoon from philadelphia up to the north and west. high today of 72 degrees. it's going to be nice and mild again in philadelphia. up in allentown getting up close to 70. on or about in reading, and trenton and millville. cooler down by the ocean water today. low 60s. if you're heading out on the town. 64 degrees by 7:00 p.m. you want to bring a jacket because we'll go into the 50s and low 50s by 11:00 p.m. in case it's a later night for you.

and we've got breaking news on the brussels terror attacks, two americans are among the dead. we don't know if they are included in the total of 31 or in addition to that. secretary of state john kerry is standing with the prime minister and honoring the victims. we are aware of a brother and sister from new york city as well as a married couple that people have been looking for, as well, there are others, it's not clear identities of the two people who have been declared dead. but as soon as we get more information we'll share it with

you. okay, now, we'll head over to karen rogers with a look at traffic no longer. >> reporter: we're taking a live look at the schuylkill expressway which would normally be busy. that's westbound traffic at conshohocken heading toward center city moving fine at this point. we're seeing lighter volume than normal on good friday. roads are damp in spots, but not problems with that. on the waze app we have a minor accident on state road, i-95 northbound, look for that one coming into us right now. we have a disabled vehicle that's near here on swamp pike at william penn drive that's in limerick. a downed tree is causing a problem in newark, delaware here old cooch's bridge road at baltimore pike. stick to college avenue we have a downed tree there. we have a serious accident not far from 55 at royal avenue reid
